Packingtown Review Inaugural Flash Fiction Contest

**Guidelines**

  • New Deadline : Postmark of October 1st, 2011
  • Word Limit: 800 Words
  • Entry Fee: $5.00 for 1 submission, $10.00 for up to 3 submissions
  • Judge: Kathleen Rooney

Winner will receive $150, publication, and possible opportunity to participate in an off-site reading during the 2012 AWP conference in Chicago.

Packingtown Review Prize for Critical Response

Paul Hoover has donated his poem "The Windows (Speech-lit Islands)" to Packingtown Review's critical response contest.

To enter, submit a critical response between 1,500 and 2,500 words discussing Paul Hoover's "The Windows (Speech-lit Islands)" in light of the poet's aesthetic and in the context of contemporary poetry.

The winning response will be featured in the first issue of Packingtown Review alongside the poem, as well as on the Packingtown Review web site. The winning author will receive two copies of the journal.

Runners-up may be posted on the Packingtown Review website.

The jury will consist of the current editorial staff of Packingtown Review.

The deadline for the submissions is August 30, 2008 (postmarked). Winners will be announced on the Packingtown Review website.

The contest is open to the public* and there is no fee.
